EDITORIAL &
DOCUMENTARY.
Photographic stories for magazines, publications, organisations and independent projects. People, communities, identity and the detail behind a story.
01 / LET'S MAKE SOMETHING
Good photography starts with paying attention.
Real people. Real places. Stories worth telling. I make honest, character-led photographs for publications, organisations, brands and people who want something with a bit more substance.
LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROJECT02 / THE APPROACH
I’m interested in what makes people and places what they are.
My work comes from documentary photography. That means taking the time to look, listen and understand what is happening rather than forcing everything into a neat, polished image.
Whether it's a portrait, a day inside a workplace or a longer story for a publication, I look for photographs that feel natural, considered and true to the people involved.
I'm based in Cardiff and available for commissions across Wales, the UK and further afield by arrangement.
03 / WHAT I CAN HELP WITH
Every brief is different. These are some of the ways we could work together.
Photographic stories for magazines, publications, organisations and independent projects. People, communities, identity and the detail behind a story.
Portraits with personality. Individuals, artists, makers, teams and everyday people, photographed in a way that feels relaxed rather than overproduced.
Documentary-led brand photography for independent businesses and organisations. The people, processes and places that make what you do worth showing.
Working days, creative processes, production, workshops and the quieter moments that often tell you more than a posed photograph ever could.
Natural coverage of exhibitions, launches, gatherings and community events, focused on atmosphere, interaction and meaningful moments.
Ideas that need more than one afternoon. Ongoing collaborations, documentary series and photographic work developed over time.
04 / SELECTED CLIENTS & COLLABORATIONS
I've worked with organisations, businesses and media outlets on photography and visual content for different audiences and purposes.
Different briefs. Different people. The same approach to making photographs.
05 / SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHS
A small selection from my photographic work. More photographs and projects can be found on the About page.
06 / THE INDEPENDENT WORK
Alongside commissions, I develop and publish my own documentary projects. They give a better idea of the stories I'm interested in and the way I work.
People, identity and subculture, photographed from within.
EXPLORE PROJECT ↗ 02 / STREET PORTRAITSPortraits and encounters with the people of Cardiff.
EXPLORE PROJECT ↗ 03 / COLLABORATIVE ART ZINEIndependent publishing and a platform for other creatives.
EXPLORE PROJECT ↗07 / HOW IT WORKS
It doesn't need to be a complicated process. A good conversation is usually the best place to begin.
Get in touch with a brief, an idea or even just a starting point. Tell me what you're making, where it's happening and what you need the photographs for.
We'll talk about the approach, timings, location, deliverables, image usage and budget. I'll put together a clear proposal before anything is booked.
I'll photograph the project with the same care I bring to my independent documentary work, then prepare the agreed selection of finished images.
You'll receive the agreed images and usage terms, ready for your publication, campaign, website or archive.
08 / A FEW USEFUL THINGS
Cardiff, Wales. I'm happy to discuss work elsewhere in the UK and internationally. Travel requirements are considered as part of a quote.
Projects vary too much for a single price list. The cost depends on the brief, time involved, travel, final images and how you'll use them. Tell me what you need and I'll give you a clear quote.
Of course. You don't need a finished brief to get in touch. I'm happy to talk through an idea and see whether we're a good fit.
I'm open to discussing thoughtful projects, editorial ideas and collaborations. If you've got something interesting in mind, I'd like to hear about it.
09 / START A CONVERSATION
Tell me what you're working on.
A few details are enough to get started. What is the project? Where and when is it happening? What kind of photographs do you need, and where will they be used?
Don't worry if you haven't figured it all out yet.
