Gravedirt.

A poem about survival, resilience and the possibility of growing into something better.

GRAVEDIRT / PIXIE PESTILENCE
I could lay here for centuries
Decomposing and still
Allowing the maggots to eat away
At everything that's left
wouldn't that mean that you win
And I become one with the ground
But what you don't know is
I can grow into something better
Make something of the gravedirt
Trapped under my fingernail
I'll claw 6ft high dirt walls
And walk the earth as I bloom
